Holy God,
We hold close the bravery and integrity of those who died in acts of courageous service and promised refuge in Kabul, and pray for their grieving Loved Ones. Be with them.
We also pray for those who used their bodies to carry deadly bombs convicted by the rightness of violence, and pray for their grieving Loved Ones, too. Be with them.
We pray for all who have been physically, spiritually, and psychologically wounded and for those who seek to tend their suffering. Be with them.
We pray for refugees worldwide and for those who craft the refuge they seek. Be with them.
And we pray for ourselves. We hurt because others suffer. Be with us. Amen.
